It’s been a busy week since I adopted the role of Head of Creative Industry Development here at ACM. It’s an exciting and challenging position that links the creative and musical excellence of ACM students to the real-world music Industry opportunities and contacts.
I’m lucky to be on both sides of the fence with my ongoing personal success and experience with Skunk Anansie over the the past 21 years, and now with the development of the next generation of talented musicians and productive music industry people studying and emerging from ACM and ACM@Metropolis.
On Monday I was at the Industry showcase day at Metropolis Studios in London. Top industry insiders turned up for a panel to give advice and direction to the students playing a short 3 song set.
The sound was great, the venue is awesome and everyone played their best. A small audience was present too which added a vibe and comfort zone for the performers.
Great advice was given in the spaceship-like control room of studio A, and I think the whole day was an enjoyable success for everyone involved.
